Leather Barrelback wing chair in hide |
| Details | The Barrel Back Wing Chair (so called because of the distinct fluted back that generously envelops the sitter in reassuring security) is a faithful copy of a late nineteenth century chair inspired by an even earlier chair. Each flute is individually stitched and stuffed with traditional materials. Old fashioned hessian, jute webbing, white cotton felt… are just some of the materials employed in the upholstery of this handmade frame. The seat is coil sprung with no less than nine 7 inch springs carefully hand stitched in position to assure maximum comfort. The seat cushion stuffed with feather and down completes this magnificent chair standing elegantly on delicately hand carved ball and claw feet. This example in beautiful hand polished hide. Approx dimensions are 33.5 ins wide x 33ins deep x 44.5ins high. |
