Oval Dining Table designed in 1970 |
Details | Although quite a departure from Bylaw traditional furniture, the seller (and original designer) especially wishes to offer this table on ByBay because it is a site offering properly crafted furniture. Inspired by Arts & Crafts furniture makers such as Ernest Gimson (1864 - 1919), the seller himself being a maker of guitars, violins and furniture, commissioned his design to be made by a Cotswold cabinetmaker in 1970. To give a feel for the design, one photo shows it with a set of Danish oak chairs purchased in the same year. The table is described as being in excellent condition and plainly is impeccably constructed - e.g. the top is made from book matched oak. 60ins x 40ins x 28ins high, this is a very special table for a connoisseur of post-war crafts revival bespoke furniture. |
