Item Name
Montgomeryshire Potboard Dresser
Details As a Welsh dresser, this has to be amongst the finest! Said to be in magnificent condition by the owner and original commissioner of the piece. Made in beautiful solid cherrywood it measures 86.5ins long x 18ins deep x 81ins high. In a style circa 1750 the baluster turned legs support a cock-beaded apron beneath four cock-beaded drawers. Fluted pilasters separate the drawers and the fluting theme is carried through to the spice cupboard doors of the rack. A useful potboard runs below the drawers. In all, this is as good as they get.... epitomising the very pinnacle of the skill applied to the handmade furniture products produced by the Bylaw workshops until its closure in 2012.
