Country Georgian four poster bed
Details Bylaw offered the Country Georgian four poster in several possible permutations as a lighter alternative to the classic oak full tester bed. This example was designed not to require a divan base beneath the mattress. Therefore, for support, it has slats and retaining rails. The overall width is just under 5ft 6ins, the mattress width being 5ft or 1.5m. The overall height is in the region of 94ins or 7ft 10ins or 2.39m. You can see from the attached original Bylaw spec sheet that the posts have the option 1 reeding and option 4 plain baluster supporting the option 6 show-wood cornice and backed by the option 7 swan-neck headboard. The cornice contains a fabric canopy. The brass rails are in place from which to hang a canopy valance, side and back curtains. The whole presents a very pretty and impressive bed.

Further Notes Whilst traditional oak full tester beds, for which Bylaw was well known, frequently appear on ByBay, these lighter, taller Georgian style beds appear much less frequently. PLEASE NOTE that only the first photo shows the actual bed. The second and third photos are other typical examples. Photo 4 shows the original bed permutation sheet
