Reason for Sale

Acquiring high quality items gives an opportunity to skilled craftsmen to restore such pieces to their former glory... although this particular example requires little work.

Known Faults A few very minor nicks and chips from 200 years of gentle use. Some evidence of woodworm... but plainly long since vacated!
Further Notes Bylaw furniture was originally conceived by two antique restorers in the 1970s to make top rank country furniture to be compatible with the finite supply of antique furniture for which demand at that time was rapidly growing. With access to good restoration services through Cottage Industry Marketing, we have made a modest return to those pre-Bylaw origins. Avoiding fads and fashion, we will continue to acquire pieces based on inherent, enduring style and quality.
